AFRICAN CARVED WOOD IBEJI FIGURES, TWO PIECES, H 11" AND 10 1/2" One male figure having blue pigment in his hair and cowry shells attached to his arm. One female figure having beaded strands around her wrists, ankles, and waist. Provenance: Estate of Raymond C. Maison, US Department of State Foreign Service 1955-1982. Maison collected art objects during his service in Europe, the Middle East, Israel, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Uganda, Gambia, Ghana, Legos, Nigeria, and Thailand.
Condition
Some splitting to the grain and minor surface scuffing, otherwise good condition.
