There is an indiscernible inscription.
Carved oak walking stick.
Relief carved with figure of Doctor carrying medical bag.
There are 16 additional relief carved Masonic symbols including Heart In Hand, Hammer, Bible, Axe, Scythe, Bird, Skull and Crossbones, Nails, Hourglass, Square and Compass, Shovel and Coffin.
Minor wear from years of repeated handling. The original varnish has darkened and crazed.

Provenance: Originally given in the late 19th c. to a Dr. Nichols of Lesley Michigan as payment for childbirth and recovery cost for the wife of a Carpenter who was traveling to the west. Privately purchased from the Nichols' great granddaughter, Mrs. Anna Jane Quirk of Belleville, Michigan in 1989.
