The Black Sox Scandal: Rare World Series Game 1 Ticket Stub; Chicago White Sox VS the Cincinnati Reds October 1, 1919. The Black Sox Scandal was a Major League Baseball game-fixing scandal in which eight members of the Chicago White Sox were accused of throwing the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for money from a gambling syndicate led by Arnold Rothstein.

Shoeless Joe Jackson was a member of the infamous 1919 Chicago White Sox team that fixed games during the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. Despite having 12 hits in the World Series himself, Jackson was one of eight players who received a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball after the 1920 season. Series also had HOfs Eddie Collins, Ray Schalk, Red Faber and Edd Roush
