Description

1864 Adams & Westlake / Hart & Duff St. Louis Hatmakers Queen's Lantern A really unique Adams & Westlake bell bottom presentation lantern. Screw bottom with the fount missing. The underside has the Adams & Westlake stamp with a patent date of Apr. 26 64. The underside is also marked with Hart & Duff St. Louis. Hart & Duff was a hat maker which had A&W produce lanterns for them to sell. The globe is a clear CNX / Dietz Vesta measuring 4 3/8" tall. This unique lantern did come from a smoking household and has nicotine staining on the wire guard and around the crevasses of the lantern. Also a very tight hairline crack is forming at the edge of the bell. The crack is approximately 3/8" long.
