Description
18th c. Chinese Vase, having a deep red surface streaked with iridescent blue, lavender and milky white glaze, with flattened circular body and cylindrical neck with flared rim, neck flanked by openwork scroll form side handles, base incised with Qing Qianlong reign seal mark, also with affixed "Millicent A. Rogers Collection" label, 13" high, 9 3/4" x 4 3/4". Provenance: Fashion icon and art collector Mary Millicent Abigail Rogers (1902-1953) was the granddaughter of Henry Huddleston Rogers, Sr., a founding partner of Standard Oil. As heiress to her family's fortune, she traveled the world and was a voracious collector of jewelry and fine and decorative art, including important Asian antiques.
