Oval. Lift-off cover depicts the monarch in profile, wearing a suit of armor and on horseback. “Carolus D.G. Anglus, Scotia, Hiberniae. Rex. etc” inscribed above and a coat of arms below. Signed “OB London Fecit.” beneath the coat of arms.

John (Jean) Obrisset (active 1705-1727) was a French Huguenot immigrant who specialized in pressed horn and tortoiseshell work.
