Description

NEW ENGLAND GLASS CO. SHEET IRON WHALE OIL LANTERN, bail handle, top with pierced diamond pattern and base with dot pattern, colorless onion-form globe, removable base with spring mechanism to underside and fitted with font, underside marked "N.E. GLASS CO.", No. 1 pewter collar. Fitted with a later brass and tin double-tube burner. Second quarter 19th century. 10 1/2" H to top of cap, 6" D base.

Provenance: The Phillip M. Sullivan estate collection.

Condition

Very good condition with some minor denting and imperfections, cap with some minor losses to edge, globe with wear and normal flakes/roughness to rims. Burner with significant rust.
