A Chinese Carved Cinnabar Lacquer, Bone and Pewter Box
late 19th or early 20th century, pewter hinged box raised on three ball feet, interior is lined with wood and has three divided sections, cover is inset with a rectangular panel of carved red cinnabar lacquer with peony design surrounding a bone carving of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
