Description
This impressive chatelaine was made by the Gorham Silver co. in the late 19th C. Featuring an octopus with red glass eyes, and eight ladies accessories. Hallmarked with the numbers 145, STERLING and the Initials "ET". Eight accessories include: Nail file/Buttonhook, Walnut or pecan shaped case, A match case with gold interior (hallmark, 350), a vinaigrette (or scent bottle hallmark 800), a weekly calendar with ivory pages, a circular pin cushion, a writing pencil, a pair of scissors (complete and original to the piece). All pieces (except pencil and nut) carry an ocean and water theme with fish, Frogs, lily pads and rippling water. Measures 12" at the longest point and approx 6" wide. This item is not damaged or repaired.
