Description
This interesting hand wheel was patented by Richard W. Burnett in 1932. The patent design allowed the operator to use the braking system on a rail car by having the finger grooves in the center of the wheel to save the operator from potentially getting his fingers caught in the spokes. It is solid cast metal and measures 22" across. It has been mounted on a thin board for easier display.
