Ionel Talpazan 1955-3015 Ionel Talpazan escaped Bucharest, Romania, by swimming across the Danube staying in Yugoslavia until he was given refuge status in NYC. Abused as a child, his mother threw him out of the house during a rain storm for losing a farm tool only to awake to an all encompassing "Blue Light." He became obsessed with the sky, Blue Energy, UFOs and Spaceships, his spaceship constructions multiplying until there was little room for him in his apartment. Sometimes he could be spotted near MOMA trying to sell his drawings on the street. He often carried a small bird in his coat pocket. His complex drawings depicted space ship technology and energy sources such as nuclear, magnetic, solar, anti-gravitational, volcanic and vacuum. Maybe he was trying to escape his childhood.
