Inez Nathaniel Walker 1911-1990. Born into poverty in Sumpter, S.C., Inez joined the Great Migration north to N.Y to escape the harsh realities of farm work. She began drawing while incarcerated (for killing an abuser) at Bedford Hills Correctional Prison from 1971-73. Known for her intricate pencil work and tiny hands most of her drawings were of women. This earlier image before her marriage to Walker are of note because of double images involving a man and child. Prov: Michael Hall editor of " Artist Outsider" via Lynne Bailey, Prison Art Collector. Ref: Smithsonian Collection.

From the lifetime collection of living folk artist Dewey Blocksma, Beulah, Michigan. Blocksma acquired most pieces directly from the artists.
