1 Large 19th C. black glass pictorial button design under glass.
This button has been a sought after button by collectors ever since Franco Jacassi uncovered a stash of them in Europe 20 years ago. Since then anytime they come up for sale they are sold almost immediately. This design is an exquisite design of birds in flight, fauna and a sunrise. The construction is that the black glass is painted on the surface and then a thin clear glass sheet was fused to the top, consequently making it a design under glass. This example from the collection of Alice Mucha from the Bronx New York is in outstanding condition.
