A miniature samurai helmet in the style of a do-maru kabuto. Kabuto were helmets used by warriors and samurai of Japan for many centuries with many different styles and varieties evolving over time. This helmet has a decorated crescent shaped crest with folded over helmet rim. Helmet has an orange cord secured by a pair of loops on the inside edge of the liner. Helmet is in overall good condition with some layer separation on corner of cardboard used in helmet rim and some dust on decorated front ridges. Comes in black painted wooden box with detailing on front corners and chrysanthemums on legs. Neat display piece. See photos. Box measures 11"W x 8.5"D x 6.5"T Belonged to be used for home shrines.
