GEORGE W. SHIEBLER & CO. "MEDALLION / ETRUSCAN" STERLING SILVER OPEN SALTS, LOT OF THREE, comprising a small round example with three Classical-style busts and a personalized engraving to side, and a pair with each having triangular well with hammered texture, curved tab handle to back rim featuring a Classical-style bust of a man wearing a wreath crown, exterior sides with engraved designs including anthemion leaves, raised on three short feet. Each impressed to underside with maker's mark and "STERLING", round example with "31" pattern number, each pair with "532" pattern number and a retailer's mark for Bigelow, Kennard & Co. of Boston, MA. Total weight: 4.675 ozt. George W. Shiebler & Co., New York City, NY. Fourth quarter 19th/early 20th century. One larger example 1 3/4" HOA, 3 1/4" LOA.
Condition
Pair in very good to excellent overall condition with minor wear, some surface scratches mostly minor in nature, one with a small dent to base and a label adhered to underside; round example in good condition with surface scratches, a few minor dents, and significant wear to exterior decoration.
