Description
ENGLISH STERLING SILVER ARTICLES, LOT OF NINE, including a Georgian cream pot/jug by a London maker with 1792 date mark, a Georgian snuff box by John Shaw of Birmingham with 1812 date mark having presentation engraving to top and probably later gilt-washed interior, a pair of open salts by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd. of London with 1924 date marks, a pair of shallow bowls with pierced handles by Robert Stewart of Sheffield having 1933 date marks, and an owl figural place card holder by Sampson Mordan & Co. Ltd. of Chester with 1907 date mark. Each piece with a maker's mark and three to four English hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a city mark, a date mark, and/or a duty mark. Together with a pair of sterling salt spoons having marks for Shaw & Brown. Total weight: 18.315 ozt. 11 pieces total. Late 18th, 19th, and first half 20th century. Cream pot 5 1/2" HOA.

Most in very good overall condition with minor to moderate wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, slight bending, one or a few dents, and/or worn spots to decoration; cream pot with likely restoration and later gilt-washed interior.
