Alessio Gimignani (c. 1567-1651): Design for a Lunette: The Death of St. Francis
Ink and wash with red chalk on paper, unsigned, with the Nathaniel Hone (Lugt 2793), Sir Joshua Reynolds (Lugt 2364) and P. Crozat (Lugt 474) collectors' marks lower right and on the reverse of the mount, inscribed 'Mateo Roselli 23' lower center.
5 7/8 x 8 1/2 in. (sheet), 13 x 14 in. (frame).

Sheet tipped to a paper mount and with attendant glue staining showing through from the reverse. Scattered foxing and staining. A small made-up loss and a tiny tear at the left sheet edge.
