Description
GERMAN PORCELAIN PLAQUE, rectangular form, titled "Floreal / nach Bisson" to back, depicting a young woman picking flowers and gathering them in her dress, no signature located. Additional marks to back include black-printed "MADE IN GERMANY". Housed in a giltwood Florentine-style frame. Late 19th/early 20th century. 5 1/4" x 3 5/8" sight, 11 1/2" x 9 3/4" OA.
Catalogue Note: Edouard Bisson (French, 1859-1939) was a Pre-Raphaelite painter and student of the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He is most famous for his paintings of graceful women in stirring landscapes.
