Personal letters from Douglas L. Oliver to Louis Pierre Ledoux dated Feb. 1938 and May 1937.
1938 letter, written on Harvard University stationary, sent to Louis Pierre Ledoux in New Guinea, is very personal in nature describing people at Harvard, skiing, music, etc. 1937 letter written from Colon, Panama, gives a colorful account of Douglas L. Oliver's brief stay there. Douglas L. Oliver who was headed to Bougainville, Solomon Islands in 1938. Douglas L. Oliver was a 1934 Harvard graduate, and also research associate at the Peabody Harvard Museum of Ethnology and Archaeology from 1936-1941. His numerous published works include journal articles, museum papers, and books.
