6 steel engraving plates. 16x11 cm (6¼x4¼").
Four of the plates were used for illustrating a Harper & Bros. edition of Mark Twain's The Gilded Age, including three illustrations by W.T. Smedley, and a frontispiece portrait of Twain. Included as well is a plate labeled: "Equator Vol. II frontis. An Indian Railway Station," by an unknown artist, and a plate for an illustration of of a man with a woman in the background, by an unknown artist. Five of the plates include illustrations made from them.
Condition
Some general wear and soiling; very good.
