Prehistoric Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan) Wingate Black-on-Red Pottery Bowl | Native American, southwestern United States, Four Corners region, southern Colorado Plateau, Anasazi (Ancestral Puebloan), ca. 1030 to 1175 CE. An attractive redware pottery bowl of the Wingate Red-on-Black type with a convex / round bottom and a deep interior basin. Within the basin is an intricate, black-painted decorative program consisting of a central triangular black bands with serrated forms inside. Except for a small diamond shaped area in the middle of the basin (left unadorned), the entire interior is covered in the repeating patterns. Approx. Size: 9.25″ W x 3.75″ H | Professionally repaired.
