Description
A rare black jet circular stamp seal, Southern Anatolia, c. 2000 - 1500 BC, one side with a standing goat with symbol above, the opposite side with a serpent, V symbol above; horizontally drilled for suspension. D: 25 mm; Thickness: 6 mm. Jet is a precursor to coal, a type of lignite, and is an organic gemstone. Ex California Museum of Ancient Art de-accession.
