Description
A lot of 2 Egyptian faience ushabtis. The first is Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with false beard, arms folded across chest hands holding a pick and hoe; vertical plinth down back. H: 3 1/3 in (8.5cm). Nice green glaze and mounted on a small lucite block. The second is an Egyptian glazed ushabti fragment, 3rd Intermediate Period, 22nd Dynasty, c. 943 - 716 BC, depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with arms folded at chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, which along with the cosmetic details are depicted in black, as is the bag at center of back and column of hieroglyphic text down front of legs. L: 3 1/2 in (8.9 cm). Remnants of green glaze and losses to feet. Ex collection of J.D.R. Fryer, UK.
