Description
Fine ecclesiastical cope with exceptional embroidered images of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The cope features embroidered bullion thread in gold. Top circular gold tone clasp with cross and center purple jewel. Back flap has image of Jesus and God, Alpha and Omega embroidered. Interior tag by Fraefel and Company, St. Gall Switzerland established 1883. Tag also shows that the cope was donated by Mrs. Terrence Gorman June 1, 1927.
Dimensions are: 57 inches long X 22 inches wide at shoulders, 144.78 cm X 55.88 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Thread fracturing and wear on the edges of the Cope. Separation of lining from bottom of the Cope and a missing segment of lining.
