Sweden, first half of the 19th century.Carved and painted wood, gilt details.The top extends to 200 cm.Measurements: 80 x 155 x 116 cm (with closed top).Table of Gustavian style and Swedish manufacture. In off-white painted wood, combined with grey elements and gilded rosettes carved on the waist. It stands on stipe legs, with grooves and mouldings alternating with vegetal scrolls. The envelope is circular in its closed form and oval in its extending form. The Gustavian style was characterised by an original synthesis of Greco-Roman, Egyptian and Louis XVI elements, freely recreated and simplified with modern intent.
