Description
Berks County incise carved full stock Kentucky rifle having a curly maple stock with a large incised carving on the left butt plus 2 engraved silver inlays and an engraved large brass patch box. The octagon barrel is 50 caliber 41" long. Although wood is missing from the left toe and above the lock plate, plus the ramrod channel near the muzzle, the stock appears in good shape for its age. The lock is not original to this cavity. It has been opinioned that this rifle reflects work similar to John Moll or Angstadt and the Northampton County Allentown area school.
