Title: The Seaman's Recorder; or, Authentic and Interesting Narrative of Remarkable Shipwrecks
Place Published: [London]
Publisher:[J. Eedes?]
Date Published: [1827?]
Description:
412 pp. Illustrated with 26 full-page woodcuts. (Small 4to) 22.5x14.3 cm (9x5½"), rebound in modern cloth-backed marbled boards.
Lacks original title page, hence all publication information is but educated conjecture. Appears to be bound with incorrect (engraved) title page "The Sailor's Chronicle, or Interesting Narratives of Shipwrecks" published by G. Virtue in London with no publication date is listed. The words Vol. III appear at several points in small letters at the bottom of some of the pages. It remains a mystery as to which edition and which volume. Most likely published in the mid 1820's. Bookplate of Lloyd Edwin Smith.
Condition
Foxing and dampstaining to engraved title; foxing and tone to leaves, a few minor chips and tears at margins or corners, some creasing; about very good.
