A Federal Inlaid Mahogany Settee
New England, Circa 1800
with two cushions.
Width 52 inches.
Property from a Prominent Midwest Estate

Provenance:
H&R Sandor, Inc., Lambertville, New Jersey

Condition

In overall fine and stable condition. Retains a fairly even refinished surface thought out. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Each arms appears to have been previously cracked and reglued, likely due to being carried by the arms. Glue blocks are replaced. The exterior rear legs each show a triangular patch at the junction with the side rails that may be due to construction or they may have been loose at some point and reinforced at that junction. There is an old 1” loss to the back of the proper back right leg. Upholstery shows several small tears throughout, likely due to a clawed animal. Height 38 1/2 x depth 27 inches.
