Description
1850's Green silk hand sewn gown. Completely hand pieced, hand and rudimentary machine sewn dress with pagoda sleeves, structured bodice and full cotton lining at bodice and skirt. Railroaded double ruffle skirt with hem protector, period correct original hook and eye closure at waist and bust behind covered 2-tone cream and sage green silk covered buttons. Eyelet lace applied collar, applied ruched decoration at shoulders, ruffled hem at sleeve opening. Boston provenance, 2-owner dress, includes garment box, acid-free storage tissue, garment measures, 34" shoulders, 32" bust, 27" waist. Wear at underarms, spots of wear.
