Condition: Wax patch to the reverse corresponding to the shadowed area of the cliff on the far left, old repair with raised surface at l.l. edge, craquelure, surface grime.

Provenance: Sold to benefit a New England institution.

Framed dimensions are 22 1/2 x 32 1/2 x 3 1/4 in.

There is likely old retouch to the lower half of the cliff on the far left and to the horizon in that area, but it does not fluoresce indicating the repair is quite old. The damage along the l.l. edge measures about 1 x 3/8 inches and is located 2 inches up from the lower left corner. It is characterized by an uneven raised surface. The painting is very dirty and may also have varnish discoloration.
