Description
An 18th Century gilt bronze figure of a Buddha standing in garments of flowing Udayana type. He holds his hands in the varada and abhaya mudras of bestowal and fearlessness.
H. 4 1/4" (11 cm)
Referance:for a similar dressed and posed figure in the Asian art museum of San Francisco, se Ulrich Von Schroeder,Indo- tibetan bronze,1981,PP. 552-553, No 158E
Condition: slight dents to surface, losses to the cold gilding, some surface corrosion. Figure is slightly bent backward. Some losses to gilding on the face, ands and throughout.
