Metals:

Overall Condition: Good
Condition Notes: A pairing of two late Victorian silver pieces! The locket was a favorite form in silver, this one engraved with initials "LMS" and an outdoor scene with birds on reverse. The links are hollow, creating a surprisingly lightweight necklace. In 1876 Japan banned the wearing of swords and ended the feudal system. Thus, jewelers catering to Western tastes repurposed the sword hilts to make 'shakudo' jewelry! The bracelet features copper pieces overlaid with silver and high karat gold, set in silver. Abrasion to the metal and slight tarnish. The locket measures 2-11/6 inches x 1-1/2 inches.
