Jacques Majorelle (March 7, 1886 - October 14, 1962), son of the celebrated Art Nouveau* furniture designer Louis Majorelle, was a French painter. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts* in Nancy in 1901 and later at the Académie Julian* in Paris with Schommer and Royer.

In 1919 he went to Marrakech, Morocco to recover from heart problems. He returned to France in 1962 after a car incident and died later that year of complications from his injuries.

A much noted subject of Majorelle's paintings is Majorelle Garden, a twelve acre botanical garden he designed and created in 1924 when he was living in Morocco. A special colour of blue, Majorelle Blue, which he used extensively in his depictions of the garden, is named after him. The Garden, which has many fountains, cacti and bird species endemic to North Africa, was purchased by Yves Saint-Laurent and also became the site of the Islamic Art Museum of Marrakech.
