HORNER & CO, NEW YORK CITY, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, with a bow backed rectangular top surmounted by a pierced bronze balustrade enclosing a hand-painted musical trophy of a lute resting on a musical score scroll on a floral bouquet amidst scattered blossoming sprays, above a bombe hinged door depicting a seated classical maiden reading a music score and playing her lute, while cherubs dance and play the violin before a waterside terrace and distant tall trees amidst a forest garden, framed by a shaped rectangular bronze encadrement centering a bronze lined keyhole, opening to an interior fitted with an open compartment over three short drawers over a slide door storage space, above the exterior serpentine apron enclosing a painted vignette of an old decaying fence amidst tall grasses along the banks of a meandering stream with distant tall trees and foliage, flanked by two similarly painted sides and raised on elegant cabriole legs with nicely cast tapering acanthus bronze mounted hips and ending in curling foliage detailed sabots, verso rectangular printed label "FROM / R.J.
