Description
A pair of Japanese Meiji period imari porcelain plates in two different sizes. Each with a scalloped rim and hand-painted polychrome paintings. The first is decorated with a vase with a bouquet of flowers painting to the center and a floral pattern in blue red and orange colors on the sides. The second is decorated with a blue floral design to the center and floral and leaves motifs on the sides. The plates are painted with floral motifs of cobalt color on a white background on versos. Circa late 19th or early 20th-century.Provenance: The Christie's: Christie's Interiors New York, September 1, 2009, lot # 498. Please refer to the original paper label on the back.
