Antique 19th Century Burmese Kamawa-Sa manuscript containing 16 leaves between red and gilt lacquer wooden covers and bound in a bamboo and cloth cover. They contain texts used for formal acts by the community of monks such as ordination when they take the yellow robe and are commissioned as works of merit to be presented to the monkhood .
Families donate these manuscripts to monasteries when a son enters the monkhood for which the mother particularly acquires merit. The manuscript leaves made of lacquered wood wrapped in pieces of cloth often from the robes of highly esteemed monks. 62cm x 15cm
