20th century, composed of various shells beautifully arranged in radial patterned designs, presented behind glass in uniform octagonal wooden frames.
Frame dimensions 15 x 15 in.
Accompanying the lot are two texts, the first by John Fondas, titled Sailors' Valentines, 2002 by Rizzoli International Pulications Inc., New York, NY. The second text by Grace L. Madiera, Constance Marshall Miller, Mary S. Page, and Ann T. Schutt, titled Sailors' Valentines: Their Journey Through Time, 2006 Schiffer Publishing Ltd., Atglen, PA.
