Item Details

Description

SWAN COVERED MARMALADE / PICKLE JARS, LOT OF TWO, colorless, comprising one with netting and one without. Each with swan finial, and embossed "PAT. APPLIED FOR" under base. Fourth quarter 19th century. 6 1/2" HOA, 3" D.
Provenance: Jerry Lynn Wood estate, Dequincy, LA.

Condition

Netted example much above average condition, cover with small flakes and roughness to rim, base having less than normal flaking to rim, and two flakes and a bruise to the upper horizontal rib. The other example has roughness to rims and handles, and a chip to the finial.
