Description
Two mixed media works framed together, each on handmade wove paper, the first, a cluster drawing, 6 3/4 x 10 3/8 inches, pencil signed and dated* (Ida Kohlmeyer, 1912-1997); the second, from the artist's cluster series, 8 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches, pencil signed and dated.* Both in very good condition. Sold framed, but can be removed from frame for shipping at the buyer's request. Both works were inspected and photographed out of the frame.
Provenance: Presumed by the consignor to have been acquired by his parents in New Orleans in the late 1970's or early 1980's, possibly from the artist or at a local gallery, when they attended Mardi Gras. Thence by descent.
Lot Note: These two works were professionally framed together by the consignor's family and, at the their request, are being sold together in their custom black and silver-gilt frame. Frame measures 27 1/4 x 21 1/4 inches.
Shipping Note: We strongly recommend removing frames from works on paper before shipping.

The lot description and the lot title are for identification purposes only and do not constitute an attribution. Preston Hall Gallery is not an authority on works by this artist. The style, subject matter, and signature seem correct in our opinion although our assessment may not be accurate.
