24 "Puffy Star" U. S. Flag. 98" x 60" cotton, stars arranged in very unusual and unorthodox pattern. Doubled-over, reinforced hoist. Machine stitched. Stars show through on back side. Five attached "patches" attached to back of hoist. Combination of straight and undulating or wavy stitching (on white stripes). Minor, scattered damp stains. Original colors have transmuted over time. Possibly issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the admission of Missouri to the Union, which took place on August 10, 1821.
