Description
Late 18th c. seated Chinese foo dog in gilt bronze. The lion seated and well formed in a manner typical of the 17th and 18th century, which is a more rotund, almost inflated form. The roundels which form the mane and hair within are highly influenced by Japanese netsuke carving of the period.
