A Red Ground Kesi Woven Silk Theatrcial 'Dragon' Robe 
LATE QING DYNASTY
constructed of large section with wide cuffed sleeves, woven in polychrome threads with black painted details against the red ground to show confronting dragons interspersed with cloud wisps and crane roundels, all above a terrestrial diagram of waves crashing against craggy peaks over a band of ruyi, the hem with a wide lishui border woven in stripes of five colors.
Width across chest 26 x length from collar to hem 42 in., 66 x 116.6 cm.
