This lobby-poster measures 15.5 x 21.5" and features 2 beguiling, young women swinging in a hoop, advertising the 'Sascha Studio and Garden Party' on July 5,1919 in Germany. In very nice, bright condition.
Sascha Filmindustrie production company was established in 1910 by Alexander Joseph "Sascha", Count Koshlowrat-Krakowsky. In 1918, after a merger with film distributors Philipp & Pressburger, the business became known as Sascha-Filmindustrie AG. The company produced epic films such as Alexander Korda's "Prince and Beggar" (1920), Michael Curtiz's "Sodom und Gomorrha"(1922) as well as "The Slave Queen" (1924). The Sascha Filmindustrie AG company became one of Europe's most successful film producers.
Designer Theo Matejko created press, theatre, film and political posters, as well as backgrounds for movies. His film-poster credits include "Dr. Mabuse" (1922), "Der letzte Mann" (1924) and Cecil De Milles "Ten Commandments" (1924).
