Western Europe, West Germany, ca. 1960s CE. A large model of a human heart made by the SOMSO anatomical company, using their trademarked SOMSO Plast, a plastic polymer. This heart is mounted on a steel rod and acrylic green base for displaying. The model is approximately twice the size of a human heart, displaying rubber tubes as veins and arteries that lead into the organ. The upper half is bisected and opens to reveal the interior structures of the semilunar and tricuspid valves. All is hand painted to give a detailed glimpse into the workings of the heart. This is a superb piece to use in a lab or office as a display, or even a teaching model. Size: 7" L x 4" W x 10.5" H (17.8 cm x 10.2 cm x 26.7 cm)
