Boston Clinton & Fitchburg Railroad Lock

Item Details

Description

A very old lock made by Williams Page & Co in Boston for the Boston Clinton & Fitchburg Railroad. This line existed from 1867-1876 ending up in the Old Colony and then the New Haven. It never had anything to do with Boston but did service the south shore of Massachusetts to the mill towns of Fitchburg & Lowell. The lock has a great Williams Page & Company hallmark. It has dents and dings and the dust cover spring does not work. Hey, in 43 years I've lived in all 3 places!
