**First Time At Auction**

Northern Europe, Ireland, Capel Street and Dame Street, ca. 1756 CE. A fabulous book entitled "Mr. Gibson's Short Practical Method of Cure for Horses Extracted from His New Treatise on their Diseases and fitted for the Pocket with Notes of Reference to the Original. To which is added an Appendix concerning the right Method of Firing of Horses, Shoeing, &c." written by William Gibson, the son of the aforementioned Mr. Gibson, and published in 1756. The intriguing codex was printed for C. Wynne at the Parrot in Caple-street and J. Exshaw at the Bible in Dame-street. Fit with a brown cloth cover, the piece is comprised of over 220 pages of English script in black ink. A recipe of some kind has been inscribed on the verso of the title page likely by a previous owner. Size: 4.25" L x 0.875" W x 7" H (10.8 cm x 2.2 cm x 17.8 cm)
