Description
Peruvian Spanish Colonial polychrome Wamanga (Huamanga) stone relief icon, 18th century, depicting a crowned female figure, likely the Virgin of the Apocalypse, with hands in prayer over a crescent moon above a seven-headed dragon at her feet, flanked by applied columns of architectural, foliate, and celestial designs, all within a parcel giltwood frame. Sight 13" H x 11" W, Framed: 17" H x 14.25" W. Paint loss and missing stones noted.
