What a great way to accent all your bamboo rattan and chinoiserie! This vintage wide-brimmed piqued hat was used in China and Japan and has been called a Rickshaw Hat, a Coolie Hat, or Sun hat. They were also used when hard at work in the rice paddy. It is made of rattan thatch and rattan cane and makes a dramatic wall statement in any room. Would go very nicely with your Asian decor! A fantastic architectural object of art on a wall or placed on a large shelf or console. The maker and date of creation are unknown. The hat is approx 25" x 25" x 13" and weighs under one pound at 0.98lb. If you choose to wear the hat, it should fit comfortably on any adult's head.
