Description
An attractive late 19th century copy of a 16th century German close helmet of ‘Maximillian’ type with fluted skull with roped comb. The visor with fluting and numerous breaths. Two gorget plates, the lower with ‘piecrust’ border. Likely from the atelier of the famed maker of armor Ernest Schmidt. In good condition overall. Would look great on a suit of armor. Estimate: 800-1200
