Art Deco Bronze Dancer on a Conforming Illuminated Base

circa 1930, being a nude female balancing on an orb while holding two golden fans of either bakelite or plastic; the bronze base, signed "SM," houses a lamp and is wired for plugging into a wall socket.

We suspect that the fans are not original to the work as they have been broken and glued many times, being vulnerable to moves, bumps, and even normal handling. Our shipper recommends "hand carry only" and will not ship with the fans attached. Should the work require shipping, we will remove the fans with a solvent before packing and send them with the statue.

Good overall finish with a small flaw to the applied patina on the orb that reveals underlying metal; the statue has a tendency to be somewhat top-heavy, requiring added weight to the base.
